| Kaepa Buckeye Volleyball Club will host the following Tryouts at Buckeye Volleyball Center, 6810 Oak Creek Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43229 The tryouts listed below is for both Spring and Winter teams. Spring teams are Regional, Regional Elite, American and National. Winter teams are Regional only. There is not a separate tryout for Spring and Winter...... They are together. All Tryout dates have been finalized and registration is now open for the above dates. You only need to come to one of the tryouts. Please check below to determine which tryout you should attend. USA VOLLEYBALL JUNIOR OLYMPIC AGE DEFINITION For use during the 2009-2010 Season 18 and Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 1991 or Players who were born on or after September 1, 1990 and a high school student in the twelfth (12th) grade or below during some part of the current academic year 17 and Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 1992 16 and Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 1993 15 and Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 1994 14 and Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 1995 13 and Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 1996 12 and Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 1997 Grade Level Teams Athletes are allowed to tryout in there grade even though they do not fit the USA Volleyball Age Definition. For example, if an athlete is a 6th grader and her birthday falls on August 1997 she can still tryout at the 12 and under level even though she will be 13 before September 1st, 2010. Grade level Regional teams will be considered as Regional teams for all in-region competition. 2010 Athlete Registration Form 2010 OVR Volleyball Waiver Information Prior to the Tryout Session Before stepping out on the floor for the tryout session, athletes must submit the following documents:
Send completed Registration and Waiver along with $15.00 tryout fee. Waiver must be signed by both player and parent. Early Registration will help insure tee shirt size. Walk-in registration fee will be $20.00 on day of tryouts. Make Checks payable to Buckeye Volleyball Club and send to: Buckeye Volleyball Club 6810 Oak Creek Drive Columbus, Ohio 43229 Athletes trying out for Buckeye Volleyball Club do so knowing that they might be asked to play on an National/Regional Elite/American/Regional level team. Athletes are placed on teams based on their skill level, using data from the Tryout sessions. Tryouts All Athletes will wear tryout tee shirts provided by the club Each year we evaluate a growing number of athletes during tryouts. Athletes aspiring to be part of the Buckeye Volleyball club will be assessed on their ability to pass, set, serve and hit. Finally, they are watched during game situations for their intrinsic traits. Selections are based on the following criteria:
After Tryouts After tryouts, the coaching staff will meet to determine which girls will be offered a contract with the club. The parents of each accepted athlete will be asked to sign the 2010 Buckeye Volleyball Club Player Contract. The signed contract together with the first installment of he fees must be returned within ten days of the tryout date, or the offer may be withdrawn. Both the contract and/or the first payment is your parent/athlete commitment to accept a position on a team. Once this commitment is made, the athlete may not play for any other USA Volleyball Junior program during the season. |
