| Tournaments The tournaments can be 1 - 3 days in duration. Most often, tournaments are held as one-day competition. A Team normally plays in events where it will play each team in their 4 teams pool with the winning teams ( 1st and 2nd places) advancing to the Gold bracket and the other teams ( 3rd and 4th places) advancing to a Silver or Bronze bracket. Most of the tournaments use a best 2 out of 3 games format. Seating is sparse in most of the gyms so it is recommended that parents bring their own chairs. In addition, it is recommended that parents pack a cooler for their respective athletes. Please note: Coolers and outside food cannot be brought into the tournaments. This is a rule in the Ohio Valley Region. If you bring coolers and outside food, it must be left in the car. Coaches will always provide specific directions to the tournament facilities and the scheduled arrival time. Depending on the number of teams, tournaments usually should be over between 6:00pm - 8:00pm Tournament Rules ALL Athletes are expected to be in the gym, ready to warm-up, at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time (as determined by the coach). Athletes and/or parents are expected to provide transportation to and from tournament sites. Athletes are not to leave the tournament site until excused by the coach. If an athlete cannot be at a tournament, the athlete is expected to call the coach as soon as possible. It is the athlete's responsibility to reach the coach the before the tournament. Proper conduct is expected from all athletes, coaches, parents and fans at all times. Officiating Officiating is the shared responsibilities of the entire team. All Buckeye Volleyball Club athletes are required to attend a score keeping clinic and help with line judging, score keeping, score flipping and officiating. Coaches will establish a procedure for officiating assignments for their respective teams. Every athlete is expected and required to remain in the gym until the entire teams is allowed to leave the facilities. Team Tournament Schedules |
